Pukalani

With a name that roughly translates to “window to heaven,” Pukalani rests at an elevation of about 1,500 feet above sea level on the slopes of the Haleakalā volcano. The community is the largest among Maui’s “upcountry” towns, providing residents with local restaurants, shops, farmers’ markets, golf, and even a rum, vodka, and whiskey distillery. Just 20 minutes from Kahului, Pukalani offers a combination of accessibility and privacy, as well as cooler temperatures than many of Maui’s lower elevations.
